Peace Action Manhattan (PAM) is the local affiliate for Peace Action New York State (PANYS). PANYS has more than twenty branches around New York State, and about half of them are located on college campuses.
Our primary mission is to abolish nuclear weapons. This is why Peace Action was formed (we were known as “SANE” at the time) in the 1950s.
We stand in solidarity with most anti-war groups, and support non-violent and diplomatic resolution to conflicts between countries and peoples.
In addition, we support the movement for a sustainable culture, and we work alongside environmental groups, particularly in opposing nuclear power and new fossil fuel infrastructure, including fracking.
Peace Action Manhattan is incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of the State of New York.
We are an all volunteer membership organization without any paid employees.
